As the Grandma’s Fudge delivery man, Fred, a retired highway patrolman, is now known affectionately as the candy man. The fudge is made by a team of senior volunteers in the Senior Center kitchen and sold by local businesses without a markup to support the Senior Center. Using a commercial fudge machine donated by Ned and Barb (Winchester) Schuler, the team sells hundreds of pounds of fudge each year. One hundred percent of the profits support the Senior Center. Grandma’s Fudge has been cited on the national level as a cutting edge entrepreneurial senior center program.
